“There’s something about arriving in new cities, wandering empty streets with no destination. I will never lose the love of arriving, but I’m born to leave.” ~ Charlotte Eriksson ~
Cate Dapena was in her mid-50s before she gathered the nerve to travel to Europe for the first time, and alone at that. Having raised her 2 daughters and enjoyed her grandson’s first, important years, she followed the lead of two of her nephews who had traveled and taught abroad with CIEE, and set her sights on Spain. Having been here since August, she now leads several English conversation groups for adults and tutors 5 ESL students, in addition to her work at a local primary school. Cate is thrilled with the traveling she has managed to do throughout Europe thus far and plans to do as much as possible before heading back to the States.
