Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you.” — Anthony Bourdain
Eric is old. He’s so old, he can remember calling friends on rotary phones, unfolding maps made from paper, and taking flights when people were still allowed to smoke on the plane! As a young boy, he’d travel solo from his home in Minneapolis, MN to visit family on the East Coast. The travel bug bit him on one of those trips, and since then, he’s spent most of his disposable income well outside of his hometown.
Eric studied abroad back in 1998 and that’s were he learned about living a life overseas. Shortly after university, Eric registered for a TEFL training course in Thailand. His first teaching job was in South Korea, but it didn’t take long for him to realize Thailand was a much better fit.
Since finishing his TEFL course, Eric’s gone on to teach science at a bi-lingual school; he’s also taught medical, business and hospitality English in language schools and as a freelance teacher; additionally he’s also worked as a tutor for an online TEFL certification course, a full-time TEFL course trainer and he is now the Course Director of TEFL Campus in Phuket, Thailand.
