There isn’t any one reason why I teach. Of course, there is the practical side of it; it’s one of the most readily available jobs living abroad. But it’s also so much more rewarding than it is convenient.” — Michael Todd
Michael Todd is a writer, teacher, and designer from Virginia currently based in Madrid, Spain. He first came abroad in the summer of 2017 with an Italy-based English summer camp called ACLE, which teaches English through singing, dancing, and games. From there, he made his way to Madrid and participated in a TEFL program. He began teaching in academies in the outskirts of the city, where he worked for two years. Now beginning his third year in Madrid, he works primarily through online classes. This allows him to teach from his house in the comfort of his pajamas (which he strongly recommends to anyone considering work in ESL).
